Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani was included in the Boca squad for the first time this year, ahead of Sunday's match against Platense at the Bombonera stadium, for the sixth round of the Professional League's Opening Tournament. The attacker has shown signs of recovery from a lower back issue that has kept him out of action since late last year when he last played, against Argentinos Juniors, in the quarterfinals of the Closing Tournament. Since then, Cavani has intensified his recovery from an injury that has been bothering him for a year, and now coach Claudio Ubeda has included him in the squad, as learned from the Argentine News Agency. In this regard, the coach also called up another forward: Lucas Janson, who has recovered from a muscle strain. In any case, he will be on the bench, just like Cavani, although he was tested as a starter this Friday. On the other hand, for the match against Platense, Boca's formation would be made up of Agustín Marchesín; Juan Fagúndez, Lautaro Di Lollo, Ayrton Costa, and Lautaro Blanco; Williams Alarcón, Santiago Ascacíbar, Leandro Paredes, and Janson or Iker Zufiaurre; Ángel Romero and Miguel Merentiel. The 'auriazul' team comes from a 2-1 loss in their visit to Vélez, and now they need a win to get back on track in the top positions of Zone A.
